Darren is the first American born “Herman” as his father and his family came to the US from South Africa in the late 1970s and the 1980s. Over the years, the Herman clan settled in New York, California and Connecticut as well as Canada. Darren describes himself as a serial entrepreneur with expertise in advertising, marketing and technology. Darren is a devoted fan of Apple computers (and all products) and is borderline obsessed with the Dave Matthews Band having seen close to 100 live concerts and counting.

Sherri also has an interesting family background. Both sets of great grandparents immigrated through Ellis Island in the early 1900s. Her mother’s family came from Ioannina, Greece and are a rare breed of Sephardic Greek Jews. Her father’s family is a mix of Italian and Dutch. Sherri is a senior member of the HR team at a major investment bank where she has been working since graduating SUNY Albany.

Darren and Sherri were married on August 25, 2007 at the Pearl River Hilton in Pearl River, New York and currently reside in Westchester.

Baby Boy Herman was due November 12, 2008 but on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 we were blessed with his arrival.  David Matthew Herman arrived at 11:18am at Nyack Hospital weighing 7lbs 13 oz and 19 1/2 inches.  Darren and Sherri are the proudest parents!!!!
