Two years ago today, Darren and I first met each other on our way to Vegas. It’s hard to believe it has only been two years because they have been filled with so many amazing adventures and experiences in our lives. When I boarded that early morning flight and spotted the handsome stranger sitting across the aisle little did I know that he was going to be my husband and the father of our unborn children. Its’ really incredible how one little moment, one flight changed our lives forever. The weekend we met was in fact, Mother’s Day weekend, and while Darren’s trip did not exactly thrill his family since he was away, the fact that we met, got married and are now expecting their first grandchild more than makes up for it, I think.
To celebrate Mother’s Day this year, last night I went to dinner with my mom and grandma while Darren was off at golf school in the Poconos for the weekend. They gave me great advice for becoming a mom and reminisced about the day I was born and all the excitement that surrounded it. Today will be spent pampering myself and celebrating with Darren’s family. Let’s hope Darren makes it home in time for the gathering otherwise he’s going to be in hot water with his family….
To all you mother’s out there, enjoy your day and spoil yourself as its one day a year that you can enjoy any way you want to. Happy Mother’s Day to all!
