Yesterday, the New York Times published an article about all the mercury found in tuna and sited specific NY restaurants that serve tuna and tested positive for above acceptable levels of mercury. I was devastated to read this. Not that I wasn’t aware of the dangers of mercury in fish, just the fact that our favorite sushi restaurant, Blue Ribbon Sushi is a major offender. According to the article, based on the level of mercury found, people should only consume tuna once every three weeks given the levels are so high. Darren and I eat sushi very often so we are very disheartened to know we need to seriously cut back on our sushi consumption. If you are like us, its time to find a different favorite food!
