With the unseasonably warm temperatures we are experiencing this week in NYC, it is only natural that I am starting to think about spring and the fact that my wardrobe is in need of a major boost!  Last spring hitting the stores was the farthest thing from my mind given all we had going on but this season I am ready to hit the stores full force.  So what’s hot for 2008?  After glancing through Glamour, Marie Claire, In Style and several other magazines, these are my thoughts:

In:

1.  Bold Colors & Prints:  Don’t get rid of your neutrals but mix them with lots of bold, vibrant colors to add brightness to your spring wardrobe.  Abstract prints, flowers and geometric patterns that were big this Fall, are still hot this Spring.  Print wrap dresses are also very much in style especially in safari patterns.

2.  Ballerina Look:  short, flowing dresses in pale shades of yellow, pink and blue are popular.  Pair them with a ballet flat for a more casual look or add a sexy high-heel sandal for going out.

3.  Bangs:  Katie Holmes cut her locks in 2007 and brought bangs back. 

4.  Lash extensions:  Add length and volume to your lashes with extensions to  enhance your eyes.  I used them at my wedding, and wow – what a difference!  This simple beauty tip does make your eyes stand out. 

5.  Red Lipstick:  If you are bold enough to embrace this look, red lips are all the rage.  Just check out Katherine Heigel on her wedding day. 

6.  Chunky jewelry:  The bigger the better:  rings, bracelets, necklaces. 

Out:

1. Leggings, super low waisted jeans and plaids:  Tuck these items in the back of your closet.  I am sure they will come around again but for Spring ‘08, they are out!

2.  Crocs:  Despite everyone saying how comfy these brightly colored shoes are, I just never liked them and couldn’t be happier that this hideous trend is now ’sooo last year!’.

3.  Fake Tans:  Say goodbye to the orange tint from spray tans and embrace a healthy, natural glow for 2008.  Natural kisses from the sun are all you need to look good this spring.

4.  Pin Straight Hair:  Finally we can all stop blowing and flat ironing our hair until its stick straight.  Natural loose waves that blow in the wind are back.
