Running errands on the weekend has become the norm for me and Darren. Both of us were used to being able to run errands before and after work when living in the city. With just about everything in a 5 block radius of our apartments, errands were easy. We could stop in at the grocery store on the way home from work no matter what time it was. We could swing by the post office before catching the subway. Need a gift…there was every store you could think of just minutes away by foot. Living in the city, life was easy and convenient. I never really thought about how much we took those conveniences for granted until we moved to Westchester. Leisurely Saturday mornings with brunch at PJ Bernsteins and strolling Third Avenue have been replaced lately with trips to the bank, the grocery store and the dry cleaner. Lucky for us though, we just discovered a wonderful Manhattan luxury available right here in Westchester.
After weeks of procrastinating, Darren and I gathered all the things that we needed to be tailored and headed over to his childhood cleaners, Nu-Way Cleaners on W. Post Road in White Plains. I am very particular about how my pants are shortened so it was important we went to a trusted tailor. While we were there getting half our fall wardrobe fixed, I started talking to the woman behind the counter. She informed me that they offer home delivery service and immediately I was excited. The luxury of having our dry cleaning picked up and delivered directly to our front door a few days later was very attractive. What a huge time saver this would be! With service available to our development in Scarsdale twice a week, we eagerly signed up and left the store lifting the burden of getting to the dry cleaner on Saturday mornings. Ahhh…one less thing to do!
