Less than 80 days to go and wedding planning is picking up again. Yesterday, I received a call that my bridesmaids’ dresses arrived so that is one less thing to worry about. Whew! My dress is not in yet, but is expected in the next 7-10 days. Let’s keep our fingers crossed! This morning I tackled the daunting task of finding shoes yet again as the last few weeks have been unsuccessful. I tried several different stores, ordered a couple of pairs online but none were even remotely comfortable. Luckily though, a friend at work, recommended My Glass Slipper (www.myglassslipper.com) on West 22nd Street and my luck changed. They have a very large selection of shoes to choose from, all different lines, from Stuart Weitzman to Kate Spade to Grace to even more modestly priced brands, and a variety of styles and heel heights. There were so many I liked, but I had to keep comfort as the number one priority in making my selection. I so much wanted to walk out with a sexy, pair of 4″ heels but they weren’t going to cut it for the entire night. In the end I went with a 3″ heel, a little thicker than I would normally wear, with a single band across the toes. I think they should be fairly comfortable and allow me to dance the night away with Darren and all our friends and family.
Next on the list of to do’s is selecting our menu for the evening. We are heading over to the Hilton on Saturday morning to review our choices and then in a few weeks the part Darren has been waiting for since we set the date – the tasting!!! Then its on to sending out our invitations, finding someone to do our hair and make-up, going for fittings, making sure Darren’s tuxedo fits, getting around to taking our engagement pictures and buying our wedding rings. So much still to do but with 79 more days, TurboBride and Groom can accomplish anything!
