My mom, Lorraine, my new mom, Bobbie, and my bridal party (Shari, Amy, Jill & Leslie) pulled it off! They managed to outsmart me, and plan my bridal shower without me knowing. Even Darren managed to keep the secret and keeping secrets are not easy for him! Under the premise of celebrating Mother’s Day on Saturday with a family lunch at Taste of Spain in NJ, they got me to the restaurant with very little suspicion. Of course, there were a few little clues along the way but none specifically making me believe I was about to walk into my bridal shower. As I entered the room, I was blown away to see all of my friends and family there waiting for me with cameras in hand and hugs and kisses. The afternoon was filled with food, sangria, games, poems and presents followed by a delicious cake courtesy of Carousel Cakes in Nanuet (absolutely the best bakery!) It was great to see and talk to friends and family, some I haven’t seen in quite a while. It was a fabulous afternoon, and everyone did an amazing job organizing the day and making it extra special for me.
A very special thank you to both of my Mom’s and to all my friends and family that made the day a very special one, one that I will remember for a lifetime. We received so many beautiful presents and were overwhelmed by everyone’s thoughtfulness and generosity. I could not ask for a better set of friends or a more loving family than mine and the family I am marrying into. We are one big family now and Darren and I couldn’t be happier.
